Hub One dropping connection

After years of stable ADSL I moved to FTTC with it going live on the 19th. The supplied Hub One switched over from ADSL to fibre (40 / 2) without a problem and all seemed well until I noticed this morning that the connection with my Synology DS215J had dropped. Checking the Hub's event log showed that there had been a succession of PPPoE drops since the 20th (see below). Is this likely to indicate a faulty router or is there a line fault?

Re: Hub One dropping connection

We're seeing a few disconnections, which seem to tally up with the timestamps in your logs:

There aren't a lot of disconnections though, are you seeing more happen that shown there?

Re: Hub One dropping connection

No further drops Chris. The drop last Monday was, I suspect, when I swapped out the old TP-Link for the Hub 1. Before that connections seemed to be rock solid, certainly I never noticed any issues and the router seemed to be up for ever. The Hub 1 seems to be stable at the moment having stayed up for over a day. I will monitor it over the next few days to see if it has indeed settled down.

Re: Hub One dropping connection

Thanks, let us know how it goes and we can check for  disconnections if they come back again.

Re: Hub One dropping connection

Problem is still here. Hub 1 lost connection just now:

14:09:32, 26 Oct.
(604252.280000) CWMP: Server URL: https://dbtpnhdm.bt.mo; Connecting as user: ACS username
14:09:32, 26 Oct.
(604252.270000) CWMP: Session start now. Event code(s): '4 VALUE CHANGE'
14:09:32, 26 Oct.
(604252.020000) CWMP: Initializing transaction for event code 4 VALUE CHANGE
14:09:29, 26 Oct.
(604249.180000) PTM over DSL is down after 278 minutes uptime
14:09:29, 26 Oct.
(604249.180000) PPPoE is down after 276 minutes uptime [Waiting for Underlying Connection (WAN Ethernet 7 - Down)]
14:09:26, 26 Oct.
(604246.180000) PPP LCP Send Termination Request [User request]

and then came back with:

14:10:51, 26 Oct.
(604331.500000) PPPoE is up - Down Rate=17923Kbps, Up Rate=1999Kbps; SNR Margin Down=6.2dB, Up=15.0dB

I think that is the second drop today and there was one on Tuesday morning.

I ran a quiet line test this morning and all appeared well, so line noise shouldn't be causing the problem.
