Hub One as a passthrough modem for Airport Extreme

Hi,

I recently upgraded from standard broadband to fibre and have been sent a hub one, which I've been using for a few weeks now.  I am pretty certain the wireless performance isn't as strong as it was on my airport extreme that I was using previously, so I want to go back to having that as my wireless router.  Before I had a Draytek Vigor as the modem, but it's not compatible with the fibre connection so I would like to set the hub one up as a passthrough modem.

Does anyone know how I go about setting this up?

Thanks in advance...

Re: Hub One as a passthrough modem for Airport Extreme

you can't with a hub one.

there are a couple of options:

1) buy a vdsl modem - ebay you can get a cheapish second hand bt one

2) disable the wireless on the hub one and then plug in the airport extreme as a wireless access point in bridge mode (i think that's what they call it)

Ah, ok.  The second option is what I was trying to achieve.  I'll have a look at that.  Are there any particular settings on either end that need to be inputted?

the recommended way is to reset the extreme back to factory settings and then using an ethernet cable set the router mode to bridge and then set up your wifi.

then plug it into one of the ethernet ports on your hub one.
