How informative or not is this message from SuperfastCymru Web site

Found today when checking on FTTP upgrades in my area :-

"You are connected to cabinet number 3 on  the Bow Street exchange which is a due to be upgraded by the end of Now."[/color]
When I subsequently spoke to Plusnet Customer Service they advised me that according to the BT online checker there was no upgrade work planned
on Cabinet 3 despite there being a nice shiny label on the BT FTTP cabinet proclaiming Fibre has arrived.

Cabinet 3 went live for FTTC in Jan.
A small number of people on exchange only lines and Cabinet 2 were due to get FTTP.
What does it say on the DSL Checker for your number http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ ? If your estimates are below 2Mbps, you won't be able to get FTTC.

Which cabinet does it say on the DSL Checker at the top?

You might be able to use it to see how far you are from the cabinet.

Cabinet 3.
according to the Kitz ADSL line and exchange checker I get a distance of
approx 6.9km from the exchange. So I would guess that I am about 3 km from cabinet 3.

Unfortunately it looks like you're too far from the cabinet to receive FTTC.

OK,
In my opening posting I incorrectly referred to FTTP rather than FTTC .
So how do I go about getting FTTP?

Unfortunately, FTTP isn't an option if you're on a FTTC cabinet.
I would raise it with your local council/MP/newspaper etc. to put pressure on Superfast Cymru to look at funding some kind of next generation access.
