How does the switch to Fibre happen?

Hi

Sorry for asking this but working in IT for more years than I care to admit - with some time managing a network has made me curious.

I am assuming that switching my line to Fibre is a two stage process. (1) An engineer has to visit the excahnge and disconnect my line from ADSL (2) an engineer has to visit my cabinet and connect me to fibre.

This doesn't seem to be a spreedy process to me - it's around 4 miles from the exchange to the cabinet!

Harold

Fix

Thanks for getting in touch @Harold1066

All the work is carried out at the cabinets and the downtime can be up to half a hour in some cases but most of the time it's around 15 minutes
