@dnpark38, given some of your recent observations, I can't help but think you might have another problem somewhere.Your circuit is currently in sync at 33.9mbps and this issue will have had no influence over the rate at which you're synchronised with your cabinet.

So how can this be corrected please?

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

My speed is now sitting on 14 Mbps, my packet loss seems to have gone, and I think its holding.

So how about that compensation, eh lads? Drinks on you.

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

I see the spike at 15:15 no packet loss since, so lets hope this works. My speed has improved from 42 to 48Mb/s.

Will need to see if we get disconnected from online games this evening.

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

Still seeing packet loss here although it's no where near as severe as it has been in the last few days...

Getting quite a few 3 & 4 digit response times though

Looks like we have a way to go yet...

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

Colindale is looking a lot healthier now. Might be a little bit ot tweaking needed to eliminate the problem completely, but this is the first really good news we've had since this saga started. Well done!

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

7.15pm:  Packet loss abruptly reduced just after 11pm on Tuesday 13th on my fibre line.

pn1.jpg

IP: 209.93.221.x  via Colindale.

Previously, packet loss would start increasing from around noon, though this never affected web surfing or streaming from NowTV or other live sources.

One of my internet radios did suffer buffering with certain radio stations every evening since the weekend.  There is no buffering this evening on Wednesday 14th.

7.45am

Speed tests have always been fine with or without packet loss.  ie. no drop in speeds.

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

Things definitely changed just after 3pm:

Live graph:

My Broadband Ping - PlusNet ADSL2

I seem to be using the Colindale gateway:

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

Just to confirm like the rest of you I have now got 0% Packet Loss but from 4 pm it also reported high Ping and Jitter also my speed dropped to 31 then 30Mb.

Now in the evening my speed is below the range for my line (30 to 40Mb)

Am I the only one who as got one thing wrong corrected and now got another?

Are you testing using a wired or wireless connection? It's physically impossible for you to get higher throughout than your sync speed (see previous post), and a speed loss of a couple of mbps isn't particularly conclusive. What is it that's reporting the high ping/jitter?

How are you measuring those lag spikes? Is it a particular online game or something else?

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

@bobpullen  just warcraft for now, every 10-15 seconds it seems to hang... speedtest shows a steep drop about as often too

but on the plus side, no longer getting loading hang of any kind, just this lag... but i'll probably jinx it by saying this Cheesy

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

Connection is much improved tonight after the change done at 3:15. Still routing through Colindale but now down from ~45% packet loss at this time last night to 0% packet loss tonight according to my ping chart.

Pingtest.net is also reporting 0% packet loss and an improvement from line quality of F to A:
