My contract is also finished so I can move on, but part of me is thinking: "better the devil you know".

I would move .they should be offering out mac codes to people having thesse problems as the service is simply unfit for purpose
Had the same thing about two years ago months of [-Censored-] internet and got zero in way of compensation, still took my money Every month funny that eh .
Had I known they where going to offer free broadband for 12 month no way would i of taken out a new contract.
Dont know which person at pn though oh that wont effect current customers when we overload the network ..

TBH I can't see where it tells me that on the BT wholesale speedtest - but my router reports a profile of 17a

You get the BTW IP Profile by clicking the "Further Diagnostics test" button which appears on the results page of the BTW Speedtest. Just click the button, on the next page just enter your phone number and click the "Run Diagnostics Test"
Or click http://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com/PerformanceTesterWS/diagnostics.do and just enter your phone number. This will do a speed test too.

Looks like I might have been put onto a static IP or at least pulled from the new network? gone from 51.9.x.x/51.7.x.x to 80.229.x.x address range
***Edit*** Checked https://www.plus.net/my.html?action=myconnection shows I now have a static IP
Interestingly I can also report that I'm being limited to around 20Mbps down from around 70MBps.... 50MBps where did you go? Upload has stayed the same.

Many people who have been put on a Static IP have noticed speed drops. Is there a reason for this?

Still getting horrendous packet loss:
Looks like I'm on Colindale so doomed to terrible service for however long it takes for this to be fixed:
core2-hu0-18-0-0.colindale.ukcore.bt.net (62.172.103.16) 4.041 ms
I would love to be helpful and post one of those graph things but when I look at their site it doesn't support dynamic IPs, my graph appears to comes out blank

I have a static IP but seeing no reduction in download speed. Very little packet loss from what I can tell too. Still getting frequent disconnections, however...

Although it says it doesn't support dynamic IPs, it actually works perfectly with dynamic IPs.
You have to monitor your IP address and reset the graph up if it changes, though.
If the graph is blank, this means you haven't yet set your router up to receive ICMP pings, assuming it lets you.
The Plusnet HubOne (and BT HomeHub 5, which I have) don't allow this. The fix is to put a dumb device in the DMZ (I've used the central heating hub).
