Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

It's my suspicion that these regular postings are for the next batches of users being moved to the new network, i.e. in spite of the issues they are still moving more users across.

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

Hi there,

I've been referred to this post as I maybe experiencing the DNS issue as well.

I am on the new network: You are currently connected to gateway psb-ir01. This is located in Southbank Point of Presence.

And have been getting high pings in game, lost of packet loss over 20% and very long loading times for web pages, whether this be early morning, midday or evening.

My recent speed test on BT WH results:

Download Speed: 17.79Mbps

Upload Speed: 15.89Mbps

Ping: 318.00

And I am on a upto 80Mb Line.

Can someone at PN advise what the next step forward is?

Thanks

Re: Performance Woes Hamper PlusNet Users as New Network Takes Blame

You may be right. But some of us on 50/10 may well not be in contract because of the timing of when one had to have bought the original 40/20 product (I'm not in contract, for example). And, of course, contracts do come to an end.....

Are you able to indicate what https://community.plus.net/t5/Service-Status/Planned-Network-Maintenance-Friday-9th-September-01-00-... is about please?  Does it have anything to do with the new network please? Particularly is it related to the issues that have been raised in this thread about packet loss?

It is not related to the issues that have been raised in this thread about packet loss.

Re: Performance Woes Hamper PlusNet Users as New Network Takes Blame

I'm out of contract and at a time when one would phone and be offered a new contract at better price.

Of course not doing that as not going to agree another 18 month with performance like this.

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

Paid the £5 for a static ip and now everything seems fine, no packet loss and pages loading fast again.

If it wasnt for this forum i would still be going round in circles, i even restored a backup image of windows thinking it may have been a problem with my system.

Very poor from plusnet.

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

I'd like to be put on a static IP, sick and tired of constant buffering for the last month.

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

I know you just want the issue to be fixed but why should you pay extra for something you don't need just to ensure your broadband is working as it was originally advertised as.

I appear to have anywhere between 15 - 20% packet loss all evening.

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

It is reaaaallly bad tonight. 20% constant on TeamSpeak, Twitch.tv is unwatchable.

Anyway we can get a free Static IP? Not really happy having to pay more.

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

Buying the 5£ static IP has helped my dead slow browsing (especially at peak) I can only hope it lasts out until the end of my contract in a couple of months or better Plusnet fix the issues with the new network in that time.

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

Internet is very noticeably slow tonight, even browsing has become sluggish. Getting fed up with it now.

Re: High packet loss and other DNS issues

Well, I am going out of the country for 3 weeks. If these issues aren't resolved by then I'll be ending my contract early and going to a different ISP.

I appreciate what is being done by the admins in here but it seems like the rest of the business isn't putting enough time nor effort into resolving these issues. I am paying too god damn much for a service that I am not getting. Customer service is terrible, fault reporting is a joke, the only good thing has been the guys keeping us posted in this thread.

Vote with your wallets guys.
