GEA Test Detail - Speed Limit Explanation

Hello,

I have a question about this part of the test:

Parameters MIN MAX AVG
Down Stream Line Rate 39.9 Mbps 44.0 Mbps 42.6 Mbps
Up Stream Line Rate 15.9 Mbps 16.7 Mbps 16.1 Mbps
Up Time 2.0 Sec 900.0 Sec 892.1 Sec
Retrains 0.0 3.0 0.0

If the MAX is showing 44.0 Mbps, does that mean that there is a limit on the speed that I am getting and it will no go above 44 Mbps?

We are on the 72 Mbps package and on the account it says Minimum Guaranteed Speed: 46.3Mbps.

Thank you.

Re: GEA Test Detail - Speed Limit Explanation

That could be due to various factors, either your line's banded or your sync speed's low due to a fault. What's the rest of the GEA test say? If you can PM me the BBEU number from the test or your username I'll be happy to run further checks.

Re: GEA Test Detail - Speed Limit Explanation

Thanks for the private message @greentrancer

From what I can see the sync speed and banding on your line as of yesterday was at 44mbps: "Downstream: 0.128M-44M with Retransmission (High). Upstream: 0.128M-20M with no error protection" so you're definitely artificially restricted by the dynamic line management (DLM) software at the cabinet (the green box in the road)

I've arranged for a DLM reset now which should improve your speeds within the next 3 working days.

Let us know how it goes.

Re: GEA Test Detail - Speed Limit Explanation

Just a quick update after 3 days - just restarted the router / connection and the speeds are still reading as 42.05 Mbps and 16.83 Mbps.

Seems like the download one is still banded to 44 and no change occurred. Would you be able to look into this please?
