Re: GEA TEST

thanks as always theres something up

my stats are

6. Data rate: 20000 / 73660
7. Maximum data rate: 30859 / 85222
8. Noise margin: 12.7 / 6.0
9. Line attenuation: 19.3 / 14.1
10. Signal attenuation: 19.1 / 14.1

and i get that

Downstream Rate Assessment

Reasonable

oh well will leave it now see how it performs they added interleave on the line cause there was loads of errors but they said the errors seemed to of cleared early morning

but they still added interleaved on the line will give it a go see what happens

just frustrates me as i know the line is capable of so much more

thanks plusnet

Re: GEA TEST

Thanks for getting back to me, I'd monitor it for the meantime and see how it goes with interleaving applied but do get back to us if there's further issues.

Re: GEA TEST

If the engineer physically added interleaved to my line will it ever go or always be on there or will dlm see fit to remove it ?

Re: GEA TEST

Hi @iangilf

As far as I'm aware, interleaving will remain indefinitely. It will not be removed by DLM or any other line function.

Thanks

Dave

Re: GEA TEST

Ok that's silly then they also told the department of excellence to cap my line speed so that's probably why I'm not syncing at full speed ....I give up it wasn't even a multi skilled engineer who turned up it was someone from another county your normal engineer ....one thing after another I'm not impressed with this far from it I didn't even get asked about the interleaved or the sync cap we play online gaming and the pings were 9 before there 24 now and also the cap on the line there end isn't what I've asked for

Re: GEA TEST

@iangilf

My router/modem Vigor 2860 allows me to adjust the snr. My line is 1.5k so every little helps.

My dslam is a Huawei with an extra 128 line pod (thanks OR Sad  for the increase in crosstalk) and normally settles at 3dB.

To overcome the gradual speed drops over the last few month I dropped the snr to 2db, and the circuit usually

renogotiates to 1db.

Are you still thinking of leaving? where will you go?

Re: GEA TEST

ok m8 well yes i am i know plusnet send out engineers but the engineers they send out dont seem to do much and now they capped my line and added interleave to it which wont ever change so im told im thinking about getting a 4g usb router to plug into my vr600 v2 tp link to get 4g via 3 i have tried the speeds in my house with my phone and i get about 100 meg download and a 30 meg upload and can put it in any room but the only problem with this is the ping rate for gaming my daughter might not like it so im going to test out a bit more i just find it mad that the open reach engineers come out and make alsorts of changes to the line without discussing it with me its frustrating to say the least and since yesterday since it was done im getting emails and text messages from plusnet saying the work has been done and my lines stable its been a day and they think its fixed ....im still not happy with it as now gaming is impossible with the ping i get on here with interleaved enabled which i didnt ask for and i definately didnt ask to be capped via there service of excellence ....so how do i get these removed so my line is capable of using it for gaming once more and no cap on the sync rate

?

Re: GEA TEST

Hello @iangilf,

I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the changes the engineer had made to your line, they would only take steps they believe would improve the stability of your connection. I can see that the connection had dropped on multiple occasion on the 02/08/2019 and once today.

Can you advise if you had reset the router? and if so roughly how many time? If the connection is dropping we will need to send another engineer. With the regards to the connection profile, this is currently set at 72 meg which is in line with your current speed.
