Re: G-Fast Trials

That's news to me, PlusNet have a FTTP trial going but I've not seen anything on the forums about a G.Fast trial. Perhaps a staff member will clarify.

Re: G-Fast Trials

We're not planning to formally embark on a customer trial at this stage.

News article about G.fast - includes nice picture of the inside of an expansion pod.

Re: G-Fast Trials

for me to see any benefit they would need to go to FTTdp attached to the local  distribution box but given the small number of properties fed from it I doubt if it would be commercially viable

No updates I can provide at the moment I'm afraid.

Gfast

I see that Gfast trials have gone well and this is now being rolled out, is there a rollout map and can I pre-register for this service, either as an upgrade or additional product?

Re: Gfast

PN aren't doing GFast Trials, and its still being rolled out by BT on a limited trial basis... you have to be within 500 metres (wire distance) of the cab to be able to use it too......

Re: Gfast

I think I'm about that far, used to get 78 when I was first on the cabinet, a few months ago been throttled to 60 as the cabinet capacity was high. Sad

Even tried to order a second line recently but cant because its full now... Reading around the web today as it looks like Virgin Media may be rolling out to my area within the year, came across an article saying that the Gfast trials had been successful and it was now to be rolled out so I'd like to pre-register some interest.

Re: Gfast

I think the later posts on topic https://community.plus.net/t5/Fibre-Broadband/G-Fast-Trials/m-p/1423170#M57544 provide the best information on this subject.
