Fttp on demand

Currently living in Kent and have FTTC with plusnet. Shortly moving to rural Ceredigion in Wales and a BT check is showing 1mbps Adsl... Yes 1 mpbs... Eek

However, running a check on http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.TelephoneNumberOutput suggests that FTTP on demand is available.

This is new to me. What is it and will I be able to order it?

Looks like my only other option is satellite broadband but that has horrible usage caps. I have a data hungry family. Suddenly this move is looking less attractive.

Any advice?

Re: Fttp on demand

Sadly FTTP is very expensive, on demand means you need to request it, order it and they have to put all the lines in etc. Think it costs between £2000-£3000 lol.

Re: Fttp on demand

Very interesting thread, thank you. Looks like it's going to have to be satellite for me then in the short to medium term.
