Frequent short dropouts

Hi Everyone,

Moved from standard broadband to fibre recently and although the speed is as expected I do experience frequent short dropouts. This manifests itself in WhatsApp messages hanging waiting to send waiting for a connection, internet radio cutting out regularly and also general web browsing pausing waiting for connection.

I will be working from home soon and need a stable connection, can someone please test my connection/line?

Does the light on the front of the router change colour when the connection drops for you?

It’s a good starting point to see if the broadband’s dropping or the wireless signal is.

The light remains blue - even during the dropouts.

I see it's a common theme on the forum, is there a general consensus on the cause/solution?

Sounds like an issue with the wireless signal which can have a variety of causes, mostly down to environmental. Could try the steps here https://community.plus.net/t5/Plusnet-Blogs/How-to-boost-your-wi-fi/ba-p/1450193
