Frequent drops, sluggish speeds - Again!

Hey, 

I've used a Draytek Vigor 2750 and two Plusnet ones, currently running the plusnet jobbie.

I've attached some connection details for you. Any help gratefully received!

I'm sure @Mustrum will come back on this but the only two things I can see of interest on there are your uptime - is that because you've only just swapped? - and your firmware version, which is hopefully going to get updated.

Yes, I've only just swapped it in for another plusnet router!

The speed change is huge though, gone from 45-ish to 15.

Is 15 your current speed? and is this a wireless or ethernet connection. You are connected at 53mb/s, so should be something in the 48/50 range?

Yeah, 15 up / 15 down is my current speed, same on both wired and wireless. It used to be around 45 - 48.

That is seriously weird, given your connection speed. I'm not going to suggest you swap routers again for a couple of days - you might upset DLM - but is this your speed on all the routers?

Any chance of a screenshot from this site:- BTW Performance Tester - the 'Advanced Diagnostics' page?

Hi, yeah speed's the same on all routers.

Very strange - your Help Desk report earlier suggests there is nothing wrong with the connection, but something is something clearly amiss here, and I can't see it being the router if you have tried three with the same result over both wired and wireless. Additional Diagnostics has been flaky all week, but it is a pity we can't see it.

Hopefully, @adam945 or one of the other Help Desk team can come back and see if their system can throw any light on it - I'm afraid as a mere Community member, I'm stumped. 🤔

Can you post a screenshot from the members centre showing your line speeds?

I suspect if it is not a profile issue it could be congestion. What are you testing with, and what else is running on your network?

Testing methods; - BT wholesale speed checker + Ookla

Very little running on network.

Laptop wired into router - wifi was disconnected during wired test with only the laptop attached

Wireless into desktop

Wireless into mobile

Results near identical each time and has been the same for about a week or so. 

Hopefully some of that helps?
