Firmware update without factor reset?

Hi.  My BB is being a little tempremental at the moment.  Nothing too bad, but a friend has suggested a firmware update might help.  I've just been told by plusnet support that I would need to do a factory reset in order to force a firmware update.  I'd rather not do this as I'll lose the config on the router.  Has anyone managed a firmware update without having to do a factory reset?  I have a Technicolor TG582n.

Thanks.

Re: Firmware update without factor reset?

Hi there,

I've just double checked this and a firmware update on that router automatically forces a factory reset so you would lose any existing config.
