Fiddled Transfer Speed

I've been complaining recently because my transfer speed does not appear to be responding to changes in my connection speed so the most recent complaint my speed shown here:

was set to 78Mb, which is well above what I can actually achieve, however it has remained at that speed for well over a week now so either it isn't working or someone has set mine not to show anything other than this. So what's going on?

you will have to post what the connection speed is we cant see something that is in your account.
what does your IP profile say you can get that here http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ ;
ignore the red writing run the test when it finishes pick further diagnostics and post the results
also how are you testing the throughput is it a wired or wireless ?

@Terranova667 Yeah I realise that that's why I posted the current line speed that was being shown there. That was just so anyone reading knew where I was getting my figures from. BT says 55.57Mb and that has been the speed it has been showing for some time now yet my connection speed has varied between 56 & 60Mb and is currently synced (3.5 day now) is 59999Kbps. I realise BT isn't updating therefore plusnet won't update either however previously Plusnet was stuck too however I can no longer check this end of things given that my current line speed is clearly not showing correctly.
