Fibre upgrade - time to wait for cabinet visit

I just ordered a fibre upgrade from ADSL on Monday 7th, the activation date is the 22nd, that's 3 weeks. Seems like a long wait.  I already have the new router installed which arrived yesterday.

Is this normal?  Is it dependent on where you live?

Yes its normal, and depends on engineer availability - lots will be on their summer holidays at the moment.

It happened around midday today, 22nd as scheduled.

Downstream:	39.99 Mbps
Upstream:	1.999 Mbps

So far so good.
