Fibre upgrade speed

My fibre upgrade seems to have been completed today - the modem says its connected at 39.95Mbps downstream  and 2Mbps upstream.however I'm only getting 5.92 Mbps down on the BT Broadband Wholesale speedchecker and downloading does not seem noticeably faster - I have rebooted the router before checking. Anyone tell me whats supposed to happen?

It looks like the speed profile on the account may have been incorrect. Could you try another disconnect/reconnect now and let us know if you're still experiencing the low speeds.

Thanks for such a speedy reply - whatever you have done seems to have worked - download speed now 33.09Mbps - still a little below what was estimated but a hell of a lot better than the 2.5mbps I had a week ago
