Fibre speeds dropped

I was getting about 65mb down and about 17-18mb up now dropped down to 38mb down and 6mb up
profile showing as 40.4 so massive drop there
tried rebooting BT modem and router also left modem and router off overnight still the same speeds
why the dramatic drop in speed ?

Has my profile been changed to the lower fibre package ? As i pay for the up to 76mb package ?

Re: Fibre speeds dropped

I was going to post the same, dire speeds tonight.  I noticed I was getting packet loss on the bng's so hoped a few times to get off them, landed on pcl-ag08 with the below the result

normally I get

Unrelated to the big thread, as I am in highlands so no where near the supposed BT congestion down south

Re: Fibre speeds dropped

I know this isn't peak time any more, but in roughly the same location as Gus, I'm getting this:

Re: Fibre speeds dropped

A few gateway hops later and found one giving better speeds at least - pcl-bng04, I wont know about the loss for another 20 mins though.  But as it is pcl-ag08 and pcl-bng03 both gave similar poor results.

Re: Fibre speeds dropped

FWIW I'm on  ptw-ag03, and have been for 31 days 8 hours 4 min 41 sec...
I'm synched at 55695 down and 16429 up.
So I'm guessing whatever the problem is, it isn't exchange congestion, and I haven't as yet been affected by the exchange work you pointed out from the Zen status page, or my connection should have dropped.

Re: Fibre speeds dropped

Any chance someone on staff can check my profile please and give it a nudge in the right direction

Re: Fibre speeds dropped

My speeds have been rubbish for the last few days also. 17.3mbps download and 8.7mbps on the last speed test just carried out. What is going on? Paying for Fibre unlimited but getting speeds no-where near what I have been getting previously!

@mojorisin
I can see you've raised a fault online and our testing has located a issue. Our faults team have that in hand and they'll be in touch as soon as they know more.
@Gus
Did you have issues last night?
@jaseace1978
Our testing isn't showing any issues. Just to confirm are you running these tests over wired or wireless?

Re: Fibre speeds dropped

Test are being run over a wireless network, regardless of that I was getting speeds of between 60-70mbps download and 20mbps upload  consistently so to drop to what it is now I find unacceptable so there must be an issue somewhere.

Re: Fibre speeds dropped

wifi speed tests can't be trusted, too much in households can affect them. Only a wired connection to your router will give your connections true speed.

Re: Fibre speeds dropped

Any update on this please
Waited in for the BT Engineer that was supposed to be with me on Monday between 8am and 1pm but no show and no call to say they would not attend so morning wasted
Can you ask them to check my local Exchange as any speed issues in the past have always been there
