  • Current Line Speed (Download): 36.8Mbps

When I first got Fibre it was around in the 50s and dropped ever since.

Re: Fibre speed

Which broadband package are you on? From the speeds that the router is connecting at it looks like the 40/10 package, in which case your speeds are fine.

If you are on the 80/20 package you will need to either contact Plusnet or wait for one of their CSA's to respond to your posting because it looks as if your account is configured for the 40/10 package.

Hope this helps.

Re: Fibre speed

Hello @S65v10 the BTW diagnostic did not declare a fault and guess that this is because your line's IP Profile of 30.59 Mbps is not within the 60 to 41.5 Mbps that your line supports (see image in your first post). This data says your fibre extra package setup is incomplete, despite your line speed range being less than adequate for your 66Mbps fibre extra package.

You have two options,

(1) ask PlusNet Help Team (visitor to this community) to reset your PlusNet IP Profile and wait to see if your Open Reach IP Profile speed increases.

(2) raise a fault Here and ask PlusNet Support to determine if your Dynamic Line Management (DLM) software is unintentionally imposing a broadband speed restriction. Also and ask why the Open Reach line speed has not been increased for your 66Mbps fibre extra package, assuming that your local exchange can give you the fibre extra speed.

Hope this helps. Kind regards.

Details of the Plusnet Community Help Team can be found here.

Hopefully one of the team will pick this up tomorrow.

Re: Fibre speed

Hello @S65v10 that is a good question. Thank you to @Mav for your assistance.

This is the PlusNet Community and it is reliant on the good nature of visiting PlusNet Help Team volunteers to interact. Hopefully you will get a visit from the PlusNet Help Team to this post tomorrow.

However, as you have the fibre extra package you may decide that it is prudent to raise a fault sooner rather than later.

Hope his helps. Kind regards.

Re: Fibre speed

Re: Fibre speed

Hello @S65v10 your line test data says your 66Mbps fibre extra package setup is incomplete. You have sufficient line data for a slow speed investigation to be conducted when you raise a fault.

Hopefully someone from the PlusNet Help Team with the necessary skill set will become available to interact with you. Guess @EmilyD, et al, may offer to assist with your line diagnostics. A Generic Ethernet Access (GEA) service test may throw-up a fault, and then you would have positive evidence to raise a fault for investigation.

Hope this helps. Kind regards.

Re: Fibre speed

Hi @S65v10

There's an external fault on your line which is causing the symptoms you've described.

I've raised this for you here and provided further details.

Best wishes

Dave
