Fibre speed

Good morning,

i set set up my hub one around 12 hours ago for my new fibre connection and it's saying my downstream is only around 17mb which doesn't seem quite right as I was getting that on my old adsl service, any idea what might be going on?

thanks for any help

Re: Fibre speed

Just a note to add that I forgot earlier, when I did a bt wholesale speed check last night it said the maximum line speed was only 16.99mb which certainly doesn't seem right, not sure if this is part of the problem or can be changed etc?

Thanks

Re: Fibre speed

Hi there,

It sounds to me like the fibre connection is still waiting to go live. If you send me a private message with your Plusnet username, I'll be able to take a look at this for you and see what's going off.

Re: Fibre speed

It looks like we've got an engineer booked in for Wednesday.

Can you let us know how it goes?

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: Fibre speed

An update - from what I gather from someone who was at home when the engineer arrived this morning he said he couldn't find a fault with the line and the speed I'm getting must be the speed I'm supposed to get, so I'm not sure if this is accurate or not, obviously I've seen no report or anything but I'm hoping openreach will feed something back to you guys at plusnet and then you can tell me what the situation is.

Re: Fibre speed

I'm looking into this for you.

[edit]

The engineers notes don't really say much aside from he wasn't able to find a issue.

Our faults team will continue looking into this as we may need to send another engineer for a second opinion

If this post resolved your issue please click the 'This fixed my problem' button
