Fibre speed expected

Hi
I've just upgraded to the 70/20 product which apparently went online so to speak yesterday however I have not noticed any change in either my download or upload speeds both still sitting at 33mb down and 2mb up. Is this perhaps the fastest my line can go? or does the profile need reset? I have checked with the btwholesale test checker and it does confirm that my upload profile is set to 20mb but the test peaked at 2mb upload. I have carried out other tests that indicate that my line is capable of between 55mb and 74mb down at maximum (I'm aware that this is rarely available and merely an estimate). Looking for help and advice regarding this please? Have I made a mistake in upgrading to their maximum product if my line is not capable of attaining the speeds although other sites beg to differ?

Re: Fibre speed expected

PN won't upgrade you unless your line is capable of it, do you have any closed tickets showing the order completion?

Re: Fibre speed expected

What speed does the Plusnet Line Speed show https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed
If it is showing above 40Mb, you need to log on to your router, press disconnect, wait a minute and then reconnect. Then test again.
If the Plusnet speed is not showing above 40Mb then phone or chat with Plusnet and find out what has not been done yet and why.
If the tests are still not above 40Mbps and the line speed is shown as above 40Mb then again phone or chat with Plusnet

What speed does the Plusnet Line Speed show https://portal.plus.net/m...ction=data_transfer_speed
Hi I just checked this and found that my current line speed was synced at 31mb
Should I raise a ticket with plusnet? I was hoping to get a pn person on here to have a look.

A copy and paste from the btwholsale speedtest webpage

Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 22.81 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 22.11 Mbps-31.59 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 31.59 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:  -provides background information.
Upload Speed
1.19 Mbps

0 Mbps 20 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 1.19Mbps

Re: Fibre speed expected

Raise it as a fault https://faults.plus.net as PN support will just ask you to do that anyway  Smiley

Re: Fibre speed expected

UPDATE
my current line speed is now confirmed as follows
Estimated line speed:74Mb (This may vary between 54.6Mb and 74Mb) - Checked on 2016-02-04 17:39:23Current line speed:80 Mb
However speed checks still show me connected at 31mbs and 2mbs upload.

If you haven't then you need to log on to your router, press disconnect, wait a minute and then reconnect. Then test again.
If the wired speed tests are still not above 40Mbps then again phone or chat with Plusnet

It does like you have been provisioned on 40/2 not 80/20 so phone/chat Plusnet.

Re: Fibre speed expected

Ok just tested this morning and can confirm that all appears to be well.  Now downloading at 69mb and uploading at 19mb. So fair play to pn for eventually getting it right.  Smiley
