Fibre not yet available in your area - but it is!!!

I'm trying to sign up to the current PlusNet Unlimited Fibre deal, but the wizard tells me that it's not available in my area yet, and directs me to the Unlimited Broadband package instead. Thing is, i'm currently using BT Fibre Broadband, so it definitely is available! How can I sign up before the deal expires?

Re: Fibre not yet available in your area - but it is!!!

Just found the answer to my question on a BT forum:

If you have FTTP, you will have a fibre directly to your house terminated on an optical modem. FTTC uses the normal copper phone line and just terminates on the normal phone socket.

So i've got FTTP then. Ah well... 😞

@hutchy

You can use the following to confirm. It it's FTTP then "WBC FTTP" will appear in the left hand column.

www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome

If you don't have a phone then use the Address version, enter your Post Code only and select your address from the drop down list.

There are very few FTTP providers at the moment. BT and Zen are the main ones though TalkTalk and Sky should be launching in the near future. As previously mentioned, PlusNet don't currently offer a FTTP product.

Re: Fibre not yet available in your area - but it is!!!

Hi @hutchy

We're really sorry that we are unable to offer FTTP at this moment in time.

The information provided by @bmc is correct and we would advise the same.

If you do require further assistance, please feel free to give us a shout as we are more than happy to help.

Kind Regards
