Fibre installed today. Need assistance to upgrade to full speed.

Hi All,

Just had my fibre connection installed this morning and the engineer has confirmed it is syncing at the full 80/20 speed as I had expected. The checker only estimated 12.5mbps and so the sales team would not let me order Fibre Extra. Now it syncing at full speed, can someone assist me in getting the extra product enabled please?

I have disconnected and now rebooted the HomeHub. Should that be all that is required?
Also, can you confirm I will be on the discounted rate? I have a message from the sales team of what the Fibre Extra rate would be if I got upgraded.

I left the levels of discount the same, so it should be about £5 more expensive. And yes, that should be fine.

Thanks Matty again for your help. A quick question though. I still appear to be on 40 down. Does it take some time to kick in?
I also checked the link below and this morning it reported 40mb line speed with my phone number but now it is showing 80mb line speed but with a totally different phone number and exchange!
Any ideas?

I was told that a product change takes up to 24 hours at BT end

Ahhhh that's my mistake. I'm still living in a world where everything was provisioned 80/20, so I forgot that an order would need placing. Jim is correct, it should take 24 hours for everything to be maximised.

Thanks both. I'll look out for the speed increase tomorrow.
I've checked the exchange again and it is correctly showing my speed as 80mb with the correct telephone number and exchange.
