This really isn't doing me proud.

And why does it locate us in London, when we are in Scotland - using www.speedtest.net ?

We were unable to identify any performance problem with your service at this time.
It is possible that any problem you are currently, or had previously experienced may have been caused by traffic congestion on the Internet or by the server you were accessing responding slowly.
If you continue to encounter a problem with a specific server, please contact the administrator of that server in the first instance.

could Andy and i have the same problem as we are both served by the same cabinet. We are suffering from congestion at peak times. ????

Re: Fibre installed - Speed profile nudge

Been contacted by PN who want to send an engineer out to check out my fault.
Not really sure what he will do as everything is fine at non peak times, that says to me my setup is fine as well as my line.
I personally think the issue is with the exchange / cabinet as i am not the only one in my area with the same issue. Andy Wallace has the exact same issue.

Re: Fibre installed - Speed profile nudge

Same issues keep happening with speeds at peak times.
Even changing gateways doesn't make a difference.

Re: Fibre installed - Speed profile nudge

Ah, a word of advice on the BTw test. Run it again and do the Tap3 test when you get as bad a result as you clearly did on the 23rd. Thereafter do not run it again, it will remain on the server which Plusnet can see. If you run it again when things are good, that's the only result Plusnet will see and some "smart" CSC agent will say nothing is wrong!
After the bad result, use other speedtesters for your checks, eg. TBB Speedtest, www.speedtest.net etc.

This is because Plusnet's Gateways are in London. When testing you should pick a server close to London or let speedtest.net do it for you.
