Fibre drastic decrease in speed...

Yesterday was 60,000 down, 19,700 up. Today it says 33445 down, 9452 up. Has my profile changed?

 

Estimated line speed:79Mb (This may vary between 59.7Mb and 79.2Mb) - Checked on 2016-02-06 22:47:48

Current line speed:55.4 Mb

(Clicked on the link but it only shows an old date?)

Your connection has always been around the 55mb mark by the looks of it.

Are your reported speeds based off a speed test? If so, wired or wireless?

Hi yes it was always around 55mb. But it always said 60k down and 19.7k up. Now in my router deault page it says down 33k and up 8.7k.

I've just ran a test on your line and an unbalanced cable fault has been found (on the phone side of things). It's all raised to BT now with an ERT of 21/04/16 23:59:59.

 

Are you ok to test again on Friday?

Also i have no dial tone with our landline. How am i connected to the internet?

Ok it's Friday today and no change. Still no dial tone. Internet keeps dropping out and disconnecting atleast 5 times a day. If this isn't sorted soon i'm going to change isp.

I'm just running a few more tests for you.

I've raised a new fault as our suppliers couldn't find a issue originally.

We should have further updates in the next 48 hours.

Broadband will work with only one wire of the pair whereas the phone part won't which may indicate a problem between you and the fibre cab

Ok thanks for the info oldjim.

I forgot to mention on Tuesday morning before i had these issues there were around 6 superfibre vans pulling up drains ect around my area. This is when i got these issues. I dont know if they were installing more fibre or what they were doing but now i have no phone line, no stability and half speed....

I have checked everything internally and i'm certain it is an external issue. Removed faceplate and connected phone to outside and still no dial tone.

They must of broke something or forgot to put something back on Tuesday, can you give me an update on how long this process will take to be fixed. Thanks.

Getting worse everyday.

Ping has trebled from 11ms to 35+ms. Still no dial tone. Will reply to ask for details on Monday.

Its been 6 days now with no phone. Their are two elderly people living here that need a phone to make calls to the doctor. That is more important then correcting the internet issues right now.

 

So far it has been 6 days edit* Contacted chat, very helpful and they take the time to explain things. Will use that function from now.
