Fibre coming (was Re: I'm not so SAD !!)

Thanks for the replies, I'll need to go outside and ask the nice gentleman with the shovel if I'm getting FTTC or FTTP  
Presumably FTTP is the [ SUPERFAST ] and FTTC is just [ FAST ] , based on the use, or not, of copper wire.
So, if it is FTTC ( can't see me 'jumping' from ADSL to FTTP ) and it increases my speed by more than 2Mb is should be good to go once the work is finished.

It's likely to be FTTC based on where you live
Let us know if http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ updates to show you FTTC/P at any point

FTTC, right, I'll go looking for the cabinet , It's a nice sunny day  so plenty time this afternoon. 
Copper multicast showing at the moment Matty, will keep checking.
Will I need a " home visit " when the day arrives ??

You cabinet stalker    i did the same tbh when fibre optic first came to my area lol no idea what i was expecting to find though all i saw was a green cabinet lol.

Well, it says fibre to the cabinet and I haven't seen a cabinet, soooooooooo, I expected to find a cabinet, and, guess what ??  I did, with new painted doors and old frame, just like me 
In my excitement I didn't remember to check if there was a number on the cabinet, "my" cabinet number is 7. another sunny afternoon for cabinet stalking, isn't live wonderful

if you saw an old cabinet with painted doors then it wasn't a fibre cab.
fibre cabs are new and are sited close or next to the existing cabinet.

Checked cabinet again, old green non fibre one after reading info 
Oblong chalk marks with X in them next to it showing slightly bigger footprint, must be the space for the new cabinet 
Cabinet stalking over.
