Fibre Upgrade & Different Date From What Was Mentioned???

Last week I upgraded to Fibre and was told during the phone call that it would be active by Monday 4th (Tomorrow).  I've checked adsl checker and it says "There is an open order on your line which is due to complete by 12-Sept- 20017.  Is there any chance my connection will be active 'by' tomorrow as I was told on the phoneHuh?

Sorry about the delay with your order. It's been pushed back by Openreach due to engineer availability in your area. Sad I'd expect your service to activate at any point up to midnight on the 12th.

Thanks for the reply.  So for example my fibre 'could' be active nowHuh  Is there a way I can check without setting my new router up, will my current broadband connection stop working when fibre becomes active, because I've still got my normal router set up to my phone line, and surely that can't handle fibre ??

It's not active now I'm afraid as an engineer needs to complete jumpering activity at the cabinet. If you set up your router now, on the 12th I'd expect a brief drop in connection and when it returns you should be on fibre.

So could unplug my old router and set up my new router and would I still be able to use my normal broadband on the new routerHuh

Yep, your broadband service you have now will work on the new router.

Thanks you very much for your help and advice mate.  It's all set up now, internet is working so just waiting for the fibre switch on.
