At last!

BT Openreach engineer #5 has found the problem... 2 words... WATER and UNDERGROUND.

This has been a fascinating journey, and praise to all involved.

A total of 7 different "things" have been found and fixed.

I don't know who to thank the most... my family for their patience, Plus Net for their support, BT Openreach for their persistence, or... me for my geeky nature.

Just to let you all know, a week has passed and all is well. The connection is steady and has not dropped. Can Plus Net confirm that please? I shall then close the support ticket! Yay! 🙂

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

I have created a ticket for user 'gle*******h' because our speed has dropped from around 45MB down to 25MB down, despite power cycling.

 

Can you please check the line and reset at the exchange if needs be?

Right, the BT Openreach engineer has been and found the fault under the road about 100m away.

 

The phone line has now returned but our internet speeds are still bad... about a 1/2 of what they should be.

 

I have not changed any hardware in the house.

 

Can you please show me the stats at your end and reset the line at your end if needs be?
