Fibre Install Random Disconnections

Hi everyone, I'm new to plusnet, and I'm having a few disconnections shown in the routers logs. Can you please tell me what could be causing this please?
Is this the modem loosing sync or the router dropping the PPPoE session?
Thanks in advance!
Josh

Re: Fibre Install Random Disconnections

Hi JoshShep

Long time, no speak.

I can see a few occurrences of "modem hangup", but I'm not familiar with the format of your log, so can only assume that was a modem DSL disconnection rather than the router side of things.

What kit are you using these days?

Re: Fibre Install Random Disconnections

Hi Bald_Eagle1
I was hoping I'd bump into you, how are you anyway? you are right it's been far too long! I have kept an eye on my connection and it appears when I get a disconnection it's not the modem loosing sync because all the lights are solid green. I need a laptop to test this properly as I'm still using an unlocked HG612. But only have a desktop at the moment and can't get it connected to the modem as I'm using powerline adapters from the modem to my router in my man cave. Where the desktop is situated.
I have moved house now and live with my girlfriend, we are very close to the exchange and cab on the street and get full 80/20 sync with no interleaving on the line.
I have an ASUS RT-AC68U powering my network and assume it's the router dropping the PPPoE connection for some reason or other but I could be wrong.

Re: Fibre Install Random Disconnections

Ok so I've borrowed a laptop while tomorrow and these are the line stats I am currently getting.
I pulled the power cable out by mistake but here they are anyway, I will get some more stats tomorrow morning and see how many errors accumulate.
How come I'm not syncing at full 80Mbps?

Re: Fibre Install Random Disconnections

Why is the output power so low? -11 for upstream.
Is this normal?
Thanks
