Re: Fibre Extra speed not worth the extra?

@MikeBz  you will get the same results if you only do speed checks in those circumstances - it takes time for profiles to change.

A better check would be to look at the sync and max attainable speeds in both circumstances.

Sync speeds may well stay the same because of the banding, but if max attainable increases greatly in the test socket it will be due to your internal wiring.

Re: Fibre Extra speed not worth the extra?

Thanks @Gandalf , I will wait until next week and check again.

@Mustrum where can I get that information from?  If I go to the router (Plusnet Hub One) web interface, log in, and show Advanced settings->Broadband->Connection I get:

DSL Line Status

Connection Information

Line state: Connected
Connection time: 1 days, 23:06:06
Downstream: 42.05 Mbps
Upstream: 8.648 Mbps

@MikeBz  ah, you are so close, if you go to Advanced/Troubleshootting/Help Desk you will find those and many more settings.

Re: Fibre Extra speed not worth the extra?

Afternoon Mike, looks like your speeds have increased marginally following your line being reset but they're still both below where we'd expect. Could you reply to your ticket 198458417 with when you'll be free for an engineer to visit? I'll then book this in for you as soon as I can and I'll let you know when they'll be visiting you to investigate further.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: Fibre Extra speed not worth the extra?

Thanks @Gandalf .  Yes things have improved, especially download speed - the BT Wholesale speed checker is now giving ~44Mbps down and ~8.5Mbps up.  I will reply to the ticket.
