Fibre Broadband Appointment

Yesterday I signed up to Fibre Broadband and last night received a text to confirm my appointment. I'm confused, why do I need an appointment, once PlusNet take over the line is it not a simple case of plugging in the router and going through a standard set up? I'm more than comfortable doing that myself especially as the appointment is going to coincide with the arrival of a baby and could really do without unnecessary disruption.

I've checked your orders and it has been placed as a self install so you don't need a engineer appointment.
