Fiber upgrade not working

Hi so we had unlimited broadband installed a few weeks ago and the speed was only 1mb or less and the internet kept switching off so we upgraded to fiber and we have received the hub in the post and set it up and the fiber was due to be active yesterday but we are still on 1mb per second, i haven't received any emails saying anything about the fiber at all, can someone please inform me of what is going on ? Thanks

I've just checked and the change over to fibre is due to go ahead on the 2nd.
