Fault reported but so quiet from Plusnet Ticket ID #116663426

Ticket number is #116663426
I'm paying for a 80/20 service but currently, the latest BT test show below 40mb download with a dreadful 3.15mb for the upload side.
So what does it take to get things moving? I do appreciate that brevity can be a blessing when it comes to the use of the English language but to see just
'Kind regards,
Travis Cartwright' as an answer, helps me not one bit.
While I understand my 'Plusnet line speed setting' seems to be down to 66mb (it was fine at well over 70mb as evident by the first tests done in ticket #115091512) it would be nice if someone could let me know what is being done. Currently I am completely in the dark.

Was that test via the quick link or via the normal test then further diagnostics
Either way
What does this give http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html and what is the current line speed - see my sig for a link

Hi idonno,
sorry this hasn't been picked up yet, I've spoken to one of my colleagues in our tech team and he's going to look over things, it may need our faults team to look into further but I'll get it passed to someone if needs be.

Hi again Smiley

I've passed your account to someone in our faults team who should be getting in touch to get this looked into for you

I've done the test both ways. Results are about the same. Current Plusnet line speed is 65.2 Mb which is much less than what it was originally and another meg down on last week.
My last thinkbroadband http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results.html?id=145122797325503784374. 56.42 Mbps Problem is I tend to cancel the test if it's well down 😞  Nothing worse than confirming what one feels already. It's one reason why I did another BT test this morning. I tried uploading some photos and it was taking ages.
Darkfire Thanks for that. I did chat to someone before Christmas and they said they'd redo the IP profile but if anything things have gone the other ways since!

Can you confirm the speed tests are being run wired and not wireless?

Re: Fault reported but so quiet from Plusnet Ticket ID #116663426

BTW tests are usually run wired (Cat 6 cable) direct to the Openreach modem. One reason I don't always use the TBB tests for other forums as it does have the option to specify if wired or wireless and it's much easier for me to just tick a box than run out cable. Not that I've ever found much difference between them (a meg maybe).
I've just done another BTW test which is much healthier (below - not top notch but certainly better) as is the TBB tests run just now http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results.html?id=145131252323786557245 that was wireless, this 2nd one was run wired http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results.html?id=145131311322481647487
What I don't understand is why, when it gets / seems to throttled, it tends to go to a figure around 40 megs and 3 megs upload.

Those speeds are more in line with the account at present, I've upped the profile our side, can you restart your router and run another wired test for me Smiley

Re: Fault reported but so quiet from Plusnet Ticket ID #116663426

I'd certainly agree with that!
I've got to go out now but will disconnect the router later (does it matter for how long?) and I take it you mean to leave the modem connected? I'll run a test later too.
Thanks

Re: Fault reported but so quiet from Plusnet Ticket ID #116663426

Just a few minutes, or go into the settings and manually disconnect/reconnect, the modem is fine to be left in as it's the connection to us we need to reset so it picks up the new profile

Re: Fault reported but so quiet from Plusnet Ticket ID #116663426

Things seem to have improved somewhat, although I see the IP profile rate is still stuck at 65.33 even though Plusnet Line speed is showing 78Mb.
BTW test (below) done this morning (wired direct on the modem).  Although I include the TBB test done last night (again wired ... ) ....bit of a mix bag. Is this congestion?

Re: Fault reported but so quiet from Plusnet Ticket ID #116663426

Gets worse and I see my IP profile has now dropped down to 58.03, no wonder I'm slowing down. As usual, test carried out wired direct to the modem.
Beginning to feel I've been miss-sold a fibre connection.

BT bought Plusnet a while ago, so in reality you're still with BT.
