Faster Fibre and Devolo Magic 2 WiFi

Finally got Plusnet internet connected and working - good speeds around the Hub but not so great wi-fi just 20 yards away.

Purchased Devolo Magic 2 WiFi powerline adapter which Ive used before - great product.

However, once I setup the Devolo and connect an ethernet from my Hub to it, I lose all ethernet and wifi from the Hub itself

I must have a connected ethernet from the hub for my work and not from the Devolo units.

Anyone know why I have lost my ethernet and wifi connections from the Hub please as the physical connections have not been changed?

Its like the Devolo has taken over everything and Im at a loss to know how or where.

You are using 2 units ? your post seems to suggest there's only one.

Hi

My setup is as follows;

OFFICE POWER

mains socket - devolo lan unit plugged in - extension cable plugged in to outlet of devolo - plusnet hub + printer + pc all on extension cable

OFFICE ETHERNET

devolo - hub connected to devolo by ethernet - pc connected to hub by ethernet

With the above OFFICE configuration, my ethernet hub to pc connection does not show any longer.

LOUNGE POWER

mains socket - devolo wifi unit plugged in - tv plugged in through devolo

mains socket - Firestick plugged in

LOUNGE ETHERNET

devolo - tv connected to devolo by ethernet

devolo - firestick connected to devolo by ethernet

With the above LOUNGE configuration, my ethernet devolo to firestick opens a config page and wont connect automatically.

I did call devolo tech this morning, and after waiting in queue for 15 mins was immediately cut off when answered = not good

Remove the unit in the lounge, does the hub Ethernet in the office work ?
If so then it maybe an IP conflict with the WiFi unit.

The wifi unit connected to the firestick and tv by ethernet cables DOES come up with an error and wants me to change the configuration but I have no idea what to

The error screens, do they belong to the devices or the Devolo unit ?

As both devices are using ethernet then the Devolo unit should just be passing the data through.

Make sure DHCP on the router is enabled and devices are set to get the network settings automatically.
