Fairly new connection, now experiencing packet loss

I joined Plusnet around a month and a half ago and had a line fault which has been resolved (speeds up and down doubled and ping reduced, now getting 59Mb down and around 15 Mb up). However I've recently noticed I'm getting packet loss. This started when playing Battlefield 1 (where I warp every now and then), and testing with "ping www.google.co.uk -t" (and www.bbc.co.uk) shows packets are being timed out every now and then. This is affecting my internet usage so could somebody take a look?

Re: Fairly new connection, now experiencing packet loss

Have you set up a TBB graph , it helps to see what happening http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/monitors.html

also check your connection at http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/   and do the Further Diagnostic test Smiley

Re: Fairly new connection, now experiencing packet loss

Yes there are a lot of people reporting packet loss at the moment. I contacted plusnet yesterday and showed them my results from my thread ( https://community.plus.net/t5/Fibre-Broadband/War-Thunder-Packet-Loss/td-p/1383255 ) and they admitted it was an internal problem.

Now i am waiting for a responce from them on my thread as promised.

(and i saved the transcript of the conversation so i can prove they admitted it is an internal problem)

Re: Fairly new connection, now experiencing packet loss

After 2 weeks I still experience issues, here is a graph:

I get dropped packets too, just not in the graph above.

I'm still getting latency issues and disconnects:

Google's a bad destination to try this to as they're know to rate limit ICMP probes. You'd be better off trying to somewhere like pingbox1.thinkbroadband.com instead.

Would also b useful to know if you're reliant on a wired or wireless connection?

We have recently experienced some wide-spread packet loss issues, but we're of the opinion that they're now resolved (as of last week).

With the exception of some ever so slight red blips towards the left, that graph shows no sign of issues at all. In fact it looks significantly better than average! Your minimum and average latency looks to be lower than 10s!?

Again, there are no signs of latency problems shown there. Take a look at some other customers' graphs and you'll see what I mean. I'd expect the vast majority of customers' lines to be a lot 'noisier' than yours, similar would apply regardless of the ISP you're with.

Admittedly, the 'blips' early hours do look a bit unusual. The drop (vertical red line) will almost certainly be BT Wholesale maintenance though looking at the time it occurred.
