Failed FTTC install, but ADSL2+ sync with no PPP

Hi all.

Just wondering if anybody had suffered a similar failed install as I did on Monday?

ADSL2+ upgraded to FTTC. Line syncs (Hub1 into master socket) on ADSL2+ still after numerous factory resets. No PPP connection at all. No VDSL sync.

Engineer is currently working the line. Any thoughts or ideas?

For info it turned out to be a miss wiring at the DSLAM in my cabinet.

Fix

It looks like it was a jumpering problem at the cabinet, from the engineer notes. Tests are showing the circuit in sync at 80/20. Able to setup the PPP now?

Re: Failed FTTC install, but ADSL2+ sync with no PPP

PPP connection established immediately after syncing.

I had to rush back to work but it appeared to have a healthy sync rate. Will test it later and probably swap out the Hub1 as it's sitting precariously on a window ledge for testing purposes and see what we've got here.

We finally seem to have got there in the end after 2 1/2 months and I hope it's the end of all these troubles.

Now...if I could only sort out all the other world problems life would be good indeed 🙂

Aye, it's been quite a journey! Glad to see you're getting a massive boost in speed now on this cabinet.

What fantastic line stats. You must be sitting on top of the cabinet! Look at those SNRMs. Jealous!

Re: Failed FTTC install, but ADSL2+ sync with no PPP

I guess I'm between 150-200m from the cabinet but I haven't seen the estimates from any line tests as yet.

It's amazing how long a line actually is compared to how long you think it may be, or think it needs to be.
