Experiencing issues with a new Plusnet Fibre Connection? Read this first

Fibre Speed Faults and DLM

Recently switched to Plusnet and having problems with your Fibre speeds? We’ve got a few useful things you need to know before giving us a call.

What’s happening?

When your new service starts, it will go through a Dynamic Line Management (DLM) check to find the right balance between your connection’s speed and stability. This will take a couple of weeks to get everything right, during which time you might experience the occasional drop in speed. This is nothing to worry about.

This will also happen if you’re switching from another service to ours. It takes time for things to get settled.

What will this look like to you?

You should only really notice anything’s happening when you’re checking your line speeds or router sync speeds. It will rarely impact the performance of your connection.

What should you do?

Just sit back and let the DLM do its thing. This should all be sorted in a couple of weeks, and once it’s done your connection’s performance should be up and running. If you notice problems after a few weeks, that’s the time to get in touch.
