Evening outages - do we lose connection as demand increases?

I work from home, fairly intensively using our broadband to up & download files. All day i can beaver away without a problem.

Que 6pm; the family are all home and they all want a slice of the internet and boom - the orange light appears and our connection drops. Give it a few minutes it will come back and the whole episode will repeat several times over before we all give up and pick up a traditional book / fall asleep.

What is going on here? why would we only lose connection in the evenings?

From looking at your account I suspect your affected by a issue where uploading continuously causes your connection to drop.
