Hi. Currently, I'm on a very long ADSL line (about 4 miles ) which syncs at just under 2Mb/s . A new green FTTC cabinet has just been installed about a mile away from me which I presume means that at some future point FTTC will be available to me . Although it is not yet active, I'd like to know some idea of possible improvements I might see if it proves possible to connect my service to this cabinet. Can anyone give me an idea?
Thanks
Thanks

Work on the relevant new DSLAM cabinet seems to have finished ( holes filled & tarmaced, etc)
When I put my address in here...http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when/
I get this reply
"Exchange name: Cross Hills
Status: Enabled area
Your area is enabled for Superfast Fibre but your cabinet is not ready yet so you can't place an order today. It is in our plans to be upgraded and we update this info weekly, so please check back later."
What's the likelihood of actually getting a FTTC service?
Should I hold my breath?

judging by how long mine has been saying that with a pristine new cabinet installed you will just have to be very very patient

We're a little further than you from our cabinet (2 Miles) and with our spanking new fibre installation we're currently seeing 1.9Mbps download and 66kbps upload. This is following a line profile downgrade in an attempt to improve performance (it was at 3Mbps/300kbps).
At present it looks likely that we're going back to copper. Which I'm obviously overjoyed about.
