Engineers finished my cabinet yesterday.........

........How soon will it  show up as available in the BT checker, or will PlusNet know about it sooner ?

By finished do you mean they put the cabinet in place or connected power to it?
I'd recommend keeping a eye on the BT Checker

I think it was being powered up.
Two guys from Serco working at the new cabinet and another one at the old one.
The cabinet has been in place for about a year.
I did use the checker but nothing came back except next March.

That's not uncommon if it's a BDUK funded project. Try checking your councils website - there's a list of there here: http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/rural-broadband/
