I've just recently placed an order to migrate to Plusnet from another ISP, I am currently already on FTTC and have migrated before with no issues or engineer needed but for some reason when placing the order with Plusnet I am being told an engineer appointment is needed.
Could someone please clarify if this is correct as I don't really want to have to book time off work if not needed?

I think sometimes there is a bit of confusion between what the openreach systems tell Plusnet they're going to do and what actually ends up happening.

I'm in the same situation, I have been given an engineer slot although I'm migrating from TalkTalk fibre to Plusnet fibre. I had an engineer install when I first signed up to FTTC with Plusnet. Opened a ticket (#103827183) on 9th May, still waiting for a definitive answer.

At any given moment in the universe many things happen. Coincidence is a matter of how close these events are in space, time and relationship.

Quote Plusnet 'systems' seem to assume that all 'new' FTTC provides need an engineer so everyone gets an appointment whether required or not, obviously it will be more reassuring if PN staff can confirm though.
We actually have to book an engineer in the BTW system, which is generally cancelled once the order is recognised as a migration.
Fibre to Fibre migrations rarely have an engineer visit.

Not a great start and I'm already regretting the decision to migrate to Plusnet
