Can I just assume that the email I received about PN activating the firewall to "low" mode 15 minutes ago is the first and last change you will make to my connection before warning me?

It's an automated message, though changes can be made online via the Member's Centre.
I wouldn't worry too much about this unless you know of specific issues that it may cause.
