Electrical maintenance as lowered speed.

Power to router and modem had to go off for about 15 to 30 minutes this afternoon due to electrical maintenance I've noted that my speed as now dropped would it be the BT DLM that as been upset?
Will it correct or is it lost for ever?

Re: Electrical maintenance as lowered speed.

If you left the modem plugged in and it powered on while the electrician was testing then yes it affected it, or if you just turned it off at the socket then that also can, it will come back after sometime.
If you ever need to turn off the modem, always manually disconnect it from the web interface and then wait a minute then power if off or the BT system will see it as a suspected fault.

Re: Electrical maintenance as lowered speed.

Thanks Gus, think the two boxes were tuned off then turned back on computer was on all the time.
From your advice will go into the 192.... and disconnect.
Of course main cable power failures are rare but can happen.  What about going on holiday I guess I follow about procedure?
Will I be on the Interleaving now that other forum members seem to dread?

Re: Electrical maintenance as lowered speed.

At the moment your profile is "0.128M-35M Downstream, Interleaving High - 0.128M-10M Upstream, Interleaving On"
So DLM hasn't lowered your speeds at the moment.

Re: Electrical maintenance as lowered speed.

No router will allow you to turn off interleaving I'm afraid.
On Fibre this is controlled at the cabinet and we can't just turn it off I'm afraid.
