Thanks so much for this @bobpullen
I'm on a short ~149m line (an Openreach engineer recently helped my line's cable fill problem but there's worked booked for the ports on the cabinet in general) but my line speed's increased by ~4Mbps and ping speeds reduced from ~12ms to 9.
Thanks for asking us, and let's hope this trail works well so everyone (including us, as we'll lose it too if it fails) can get it this time!

Remember that this is an OpenReach Trial so it could be withdrawn at any time if OR see problems.
According to the original news article it's thought the Trial is running until around August.

Just done a little reading about G.INP
From Kitz
After a DLM reset the initial profile is: -
Downstream: Interleaving (& INP) Low. Upstream: Interleaving Off.
If the DLM identifies that the line can support Retransmission, then ReTx Low will be automatically applied to the downstream after a couple of days.
Does that suggest that if our lines are capable, we may see even more speed after a couple of days?
Delighted to get around 7Mbps already!

@Bp1000 For those of us on the trial who were previously not interleaved the usual rules may not apply.
Some of us appear to have completely skipped that step which normally occurs after a reset and gone straight on G.INP.

I can see on my nightly speed test it has increased 3~4 mb - was on fast path, so will be interesting to see what's happened when I get back 👍🏻

@bobpullen Thank you so much.
My line resync'd at 1am. The line was not interleaved but I had an immediate increase of 2Mbps. Those lines which were previously interleaved should benefit even further from retransmission.

I was interested to see how retransmission would deal with my daily one minute spike of SHINE which usually can cause hundreds of thousands of CRCs during that short time span. Line is perfectly fine for the other 23hr&59mins. Retransmission is known to not be very effective for SHINE, but it seems to have done ok and worked as it should by swapping over to use Error Correction (FEC) for that short period.

.@bobpullen My throughput speed doesn't seem to have changed to reflect the increase in sync. I'm on a static IP if that makes any difference.
I can't seem to get my IP profile from BTw to check from here. A test I ran at the w/e said it was 63.92 Mbps.

Sorry for another post, but I don't seem to be able to append to the one above.
Finally managed to get the BTw test to run (see attachment). New IPprofile should be 65.77Mbps, but I'm still seeing speeds indicative of my old profile and line speed.
Can someone from Plusnet check my PN profile please.

Hi PN
My line sync has changed last night. Getting extra 3Meg as BTw IP jump to 64.16Mbps but PN IP is 61.4Mbps.
Thanks

Ah ok that makes sense.
I was interleaved, the speed bump I got is exactly / very similar to what I get without interleaving (I use to be on Fast path, years ago, but recently I've been interleaved probably due to crosstalk). I assumed G.INP just allowed a line to operate on fast path which would normally be interleaved without it.
If I gain even more speed than v.happy indeed. But equally so, if I stays on Fast Path now G.INP is sorted the stability out.

Hey guys I had a re-sync around 1am, gained around 2Mb went from 52.4Mb to 54.8, I have the Hub-One so the stats are very limited with no indication that G.INP is enabled and if so whether it's at low or high levels, Maybe Bob can get access and post what it's currently set to, will be interesting to see if any further increases happen.

As some of you seem to have noticed, lines were loaded onto the trial earlier in the week.

Everyone who registered interest (before cut-off) was included. About 19 of you in total.
@FrazUK wrote:
I now have the usual FECS burst on connection which was 0 / 111978 when I resynced 2 hours ago and is now 0 / 111979 so pretty much no errors happening on the line anymore...
Be mindful that kit with Intel chipsets will not register errors associated with retransmission/G.INP as FEC's. They're counted elsewhere and I don't think the information is exposed via the GUI.
@chrislacey wrote:
i wil however have to ask in a separate thread for an ip profile reset as my download speed always sticks, i think its because im on a static ip.
That's been sorted for you. You'll need to disconnect/reconnect to realise the benefit.
@kitz wrote:

Corrected. Again, you will need to disconnect/reconnect the PPP session.
@Terranova667 wrote:

The test suite suggests there's no error protection on either your upstream or downstream at the moment, however I believe the data is 'stale' and not necessarily realtime.
