Drop in sync Speed

Hello all..

I had some building work done at home recently which necessitated cutting power to the house several times. As a result of this, my fibre downstream sync rate dropped from 79979Kbs to 73999Kbps. My previous connection had performed faultlessly for years prior to this event. I thought that over time this would increase back to something like the original speed, however it's been over a month now and showing no signs of improving.

If anyone can advise how long I need to wait before I am justified in raising this with Plusnet, I would be grateful.

Thanks

John

Re: Drop in sync Speed

Fix

Good morning @hangar18, thanks a lot for getting in touch. Your line has been banded at 74Mbps, but has been for some time now, an RRT doesn't show a recent drop in sync speed.

Anyway, I've just raised a DLM reset request on our side to have the line unbanded, this'll complete within the next 3 working days. Smiley

Re: Drop in sync Speed

Good morning Adam..

Thanks for your quick response and sorting this for me.

I hadn't noticed the drop until we had finished the building work, so not sure what would have caused the line to be banded.

Anyway, cheers 🙂

John.

Re: Drop in sync Speed

No problem at all, yeah it's been at 74Mbps for as long as out speed test goes to be honest. I'll pop a photo below Smiley

Let us know if you're still having any issues come Wednesday.

Re: Drop in sync Speed

Hi Adam..

I had a new fuse box installed at home on the 23rd Feb. The electrician also did some circuit testing a couple of weeks prior to that and the power was cut several times over that period.. So that fits with the graph you've provided.

Anyway, thanks again and yes, I'll give you a shout if it persists.

Re: Drop in sync Speed

Hi @adam945 ..

Just noticed the line speed at your end is still set to 71.2Mbps. Will this auto adjust to the new sync rate?

Cheers..

Re: Drop in sync Speed

Hello @hangar18, I've just updated the L2TP profile on our side so this should now be sorted within the next few hours. Smiley
