Dramatic speed drops every night

I moved from BT fibre 6 months ago to Fibre extra with a guaranteed min speed of 50 mbps.

Although supposidly faster than my old BT service my speed dropped to around 40 mbps but hey ho couldn’t  be bothered complaining.

Now I am finding my speed drops to around 4 mbps every night ! It’s fine I’m the morning but every evening drops through the floor. Have spoken to technical twice (after 30 min wait) and they have run diagnostic and can see very little wrong. Have an outstanding ticket open but little hope of anything being done.

Have router plugged into master socket and speed test through Ethernet cable.

Think I have a similar problem to this thread with too many connections on one card


How can I get this sorted ?

Hi @rik11186,

Please accept my apologies for the issue with your broadband speed.

After testing the line, your connection appears stable but the speed is lower than the estimates and I'm afraid no external fault has been detected. If your router is connected to the test socket, please reply to this ticket with your availability for an engineers visit.

Once you have replied to the ticket, please reply on here so we can pick it up as soon as possible for you.
