hi,
I'm having download issues and I have no idea of the cause.
I can download an image to my pc but anything bigger than that I get an error saying Network Error.
This has only started in the last week so I went through virus and spyware checks, restarting all equipment and even system restore and nothing has helped.
I am running Windows 10, in the house I have another pc running Windows 8.1 and a laptop running Windows 7 and all are giving me the same issue both on wired and wireless connections, on IE, Chrome and Firefox.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Many thanks in advance

Sorry to hear this.
I think you should say what modem and router you're using, which might spark some ideas. By the way,
by "an image", do you mean a jpeg or png file with a picture in it, about 2 or 3 megabytes in size?
I ask only because I noticed in another forum someone saying he/she could download smallish things, but anything
a goodish part of a gigabyte would fail. It turned out they had turned on some kind of crude "parental control" filtering, that was
looking for (among other things) "sex", "porn", "nintendo" etc. It seems the probability that a largeish binary file contains the ascii codes of those letters
consecutively somewhere is pretty high. When they turned off this madness/stupidity, things worked fine. Have you recently switched on something
like that? I'm not at all saying the intention is bad -- some of these things may be very good. But some of them are rubbish.
Most likely there's some deeper problem. But tell us what equipment (Huawei modem? Technicolor router?) you're using, and any non-standard
software/firmware, and folk may be able to help. (I know nothing about any version of Windows.)

hi hbb98 thank you for your reply
Yes just jpeg images is about all I can download.
I have the Technicolor and the BT Openreach box that the engineer installed, I havent touched them apart from resetting to see if that soled the problem.
It is mainly zip files that I have been trying to download from a graphics website where I buy things regularly.
I set my laptop to manufacturers standards and tried again without anti virus or firewall and still the same - wont even let me download another browser, I just get download failed on it.
As far as I know I have no parental filters on, everything was ok so I just left it
