Does a connection get bottlenecked?

Hi,

I have noticed that periodically my internet speed will slow right down to almost nothing. I say periodically because most of the time it runs at the expected 38Mbs. This can happen two or three times per day.

For example I did a speed test yesterday when I noticed that a web page would not open and BT Speed test reported 00.00 download, 0.41 upload and ping 0.00 (incredible! )

I am using a wired connection. My PC is wired directly to the router and the router directly to the master socket.

This issue happens on both my PC and the wireless devices I have as well.

I looked at the router stats page and I cant see anything strange.

Re: Does a connection get bottlenecked?

Hi Again,

It has just done it again and the download speed slowed to 2.05 Mbps. Yet 5 minutes ago it was and downloading at 38Mbps

Yet I look inside the router and it says it connected. The router is a TPLINK Archer .

Does anyone have any ideas how I can solve this mega slowdown ?

Re: Does a connection get bottlenecked?

It is still having speed issues. I am 300m away from the FTTC cab . So I would expect speeds close to 38Mbps. . To be fair I do get these speeds but at least three or four a day it drops for a few hours.

I appreciate it is peak time but a drop of so much is not really acceptable
