Do PlusNet resell Faster Broadband (i.e FTTC below 15Mbps)?

My parents have a FTTC connection at a heady 6Mbps (well it beats 28K dialup so they're not complaining too loudly) but when they tried to change provider PlusNet said they could only offer up to 1Mbps ADSL (*). Do non BT ISPs not resell this service that BT offer?

(*) Why they still say this having tried to install it years ago and found that it doesn't work is a little crazy!

What does it say when you put their number in http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ ?

That's a bit odd. Does it say FTTC is available on http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/  ? Don't suppose you could PM their landline number over could you? I'd be happy to check.

Re: Do PlusNet resell Faster Broadband (i.e FTTC below 15Mbps)?

I've checked the number and got

FTTC Range A (Clean) 4.9 1.8 1.2 0.8 -- Available
FTTC Range B (Impacted) 4.8 1.6 1.1 0.5 -- Available

Sadly the window for PN has closed for another year but I was prompted to ask because another friend was asking the same thing. They signed up with Sky as no one else appeared to offer FTTC. I don't know whether they phoned but I know my father did.

If PN confirm they will supply this 'sub standard' FTTC product I'll be sure to be more authoritative when asked Wink
