Disconnect/Reconnec

I want to move my master socket. Yes, I have read all the contradictory legal stuff, and I know exactly how to do the job, but nowhere can I see any comment on what happens if I remove the master socket from the drop wire, pull the wire through a hole in the wall and reconnect.

Are there are implications to working on an active line? Clearly electric shock is not an issue, but does the exchange electronics hiccup on at the disconnection and reconnection, and will I have to wait for the Open Reach VDSL modem to re-initialise?

I know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but it would be useful to tidy the installation before repainting.

Re: Disconnect/Reconnec

There should be no problems caused by what you propose doing at all..

Re: Disconnect/Reconnec

Fix

Hi @Labarum,

Thanks for getting in touch.

As mentioned by @harrym1byt in theory there is no issue with what you have explained. All I would add is that whilst working on the equipment within your home is entirely your decision, should this result in a fault being diagnosed internally then this would result in a charge to resolve.
